When Differentiation Flatlines, Everyone Suffers

"When differentiation flatlines, everyone suffers."

That quote hit me while watching a video about analyzing advertising trends. Strip away the marketing theory and it surfaces a brutal truth about today's software landscape.

We are drowning in identical agents. Identical use cases. Near identical harnesses and identical moats. Everyone deploys the same projects, chases the same benchmarks, races to ship the next Lovable or Cursor. The result? Fifteen solutions that deliver equivalent throughput with marginally different pricing.

When functionality converges, buyers default to the cheapest option. Or the one that captures trust through superior craft and artistic vision. You eliminate price competition through product differentiation, or you eliminate your margins. There is no middle ground.

These dynamics compound faster than most teams anticipate. The mechanics of how trust scales, how artistic differentiation actually builds defensible markets, delivers more impact than surface analysis suggests.

I explore these forces in my newsletter, a bit more intensely than what I write here but I'd appreciate if you can check it out.

I recently launched it. The analysis runs deeper and hits harder than what I share here.

More on the way, cheers. https://lnkd.in/eervMqqt
