Builder Sundays at Shopify Proved Canada Is Accelerating

Getting in a room with 70+ driven developers at Shopify today proved that the Canada's tech scene is accelerating.

Many thanks to Harley Finkelstein for championing Builder Sundays in Ottawa. It delivers a much needed platform that enables local talent to surface their work and build in public.

I stepped up to show mine. For the past week, I have been iterating on my portfolio and the platform for our Toronto hacker house. I unpacked the vision and the technical complexity I have been building into this project.

Here is what I showcased to the audience: • Fully deployed hacker house website on Vercel, custom assets, production infrastructure optimized for performance • Captured testimonials from the Popup hacker house Stephen and I organized with AI Tinkerers Ottawa throughout January   • Built intent based systems for sponsorship inbound, powered by my experimentation on website cookies and middleware

The signal to noise ratio in the room was great. People are shipping projects that can rapidly scale into production ready applications. Real velocity.
